Do Palestinian refugees support Terrorism?

Hard conversations are hard even amidst a humanitarian crisis. The Labour government expects us to believe that Palestinian refugees are equally deserving of asylum to Australia as Israeli’s are. They are not. After Hamas October 7th terrorist attacks that killed 1,200 civilians, a study found that 63% of Palestinians supported the atrocity. Are the Palestinian refugees arriving to Australia the same ones that supported Hamas terrorism?

The Labour government has dared to ignore the issue. When asked whether the 700 Palestinians arriving here were a large number, Labour Foreign Minister Penny Wong provided an intriguing, albeit fallacious response. She cited the 1793 Israeli visas issued in the same period. Presumably, Ms. Wong was attempting to highlight that 700 Palestinian visas was not a high number, as Israeli visa intake more than doubled this figure in comparison.

Wong is wrong. We cannot pretend that Israelis and Palestinians are equally worthy of immigrating to Australia. You cannot tear someone out of their culture, and a person cannot tear themselves from the tentacles of culture. The Labour government was quick to announce its intake of Palestinian refugees. But doing so only creates more problems. Contrary to the notion that many Palestinians do not endorse Hamas, a majority of Palestinians in Gaza actually supported Hamas act of terrorism on October 7th. The Arab World for Research and Development (AWRAD) found that 63.6% of Palestinian people living in Gaza were supportive of the October 7th attacks, where Hamas slaughtered, raped, and murdered 1,200 innocent civilians.

If you in any way support acts of terrorism, you should be denied entry into Australia. If 63% of Palestinians support Hamas attacks on Israel, then why are they allowed to come here? You cannot enjoy the privileges of freedom and liberty if you support terror and mass murder. And, given the AWRAD findings, what kind of assessment or psychological evaluation is the Australian government administering to Palestinians to ensure that those coming do not support the actions of Hamas?

The history of Australian immigration has confused the idea of human equality with cultural equality. All people should be treated equally, but not all cultures are equal. There will be Palestinians arriving on Australian shores who supported Hamas terrorist attacks in Israel. Do we really want people like that coming here? Wong’s failure to acknowledge this could lead to disastrous consequences.

Some claim that Hamas doesn’t reflect the view of the civilians living in Gaza. I am certain there is a percentage of Palestinians who did not agree with the tragic events of October 7th. But the question still stands, why do 63% of Palestinians support what happened on October 7th? The answer is simple. Terrorism is an accepted way of life for many in Gaza and if the Australian government is going to accept Palestinian refugees, what guarantees do Australians have that those coming do not support terrorism in any way shape or form?
